16th Asian Games,2010 (XVI Asiad)
The 2010 Asian Games, also known as the XVI Asiad, will be Played at Guangzhou, China from November 12 to November 27, 2010.
- China is Hosting the Asian Games 2nd Time After Beijing in 1990.
- A total of 476 events in 42 sports will be contested by athletes, making it the largest event in history of the Games.
- All 45 members of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) participating in the Games.
INDIA's Absense in Cricket
- Cricket has been added as one of the 5 Debut Sports this Year, but BCCI decided NOT to send INDIAN Team to the Games due to "Other International Commitments", but Indian Rival, Sri Lanka & Pakistan have confirmed their Participation
Official Mascot :
- The Mascots, collectively known as Le Yangyang, are five cute and playful friends
- The Meaning of their Names is “auspiciousness and joy”, in Chinese
